UMSL Radio General Manager Abigail Hughes prepares to play the album “News of the Universe” by the band La Luz during UMSL Radio’s October Radio Social. During the record party, students took turns sharing their own vinyls, EPs, CDs and LPs.

UMSL Radio is a student-managed radio station broadcasting worldwide through the Internet from its studio in the Millennium Student Center on the campus of the University of Missouri–St. Louis. Students, faculty and staff are invited to participate in management, production, marketing, writing and as on-air talent.

UMSL Radio is hosting a Music Zine-Making Workshop from 4 to 6 p.m. on Nov. 6. Students are invited to drop by the station for a brief history lesson on the culture of independently published music magazines and the ways UMSL Radio aims to embody that same do-it-yourself ethos.
