For the fifth consecutive summer, a group of tech-savvy high school students have gathered on the campus of the University of Missouri–St. Louis to try their hand at the world of information technology.

The students were participants of the 2012 Xtreme IT! Summer Academy, a precollegiate program at the University of Missouri–St. Louis, which ran June 24-29.

Vicki Sauter, professor of information systems at UMSL, and Ray Creely, UMSL alumnus and former IBM executive, developed the weeklong camp at UMSL in 2008 to introduce the field of IT to a younger generation.
