UMSL student DJ Bednar

UMSL sophomore DJ Bednar joined teammates Tyler Collico and Tony Auck in scoring goals in the Tritons regular season finale, a 3-0 shutout against Maryville.

Volleyball
The University of Missouri–St. Louis defeated both Maryville (3-0) and Bellarmine (3-1) last week, while falling to Southern Indiana (3-1) in the final three home games of the season. Senior Haley Brightwell recorded a match-high 11 kills, while senior Emily Bragaw tallied 20 digs to defeat Maryville. Junior Carly Ochs recorded 13 kills, while senior Allie Ewing followed with 11 to help UMSL defeat Bellarmine. Despite sophomore Jory Siebenmorgen recording a career-high 19 kills and matching a career-best 20 digs, the UMSL Tritons could not prevent Southern Indiana from rallying a victory. The Tritons (15-9, 10-6 GLVC) will travel to McKendree Wednesday night and then finish up regular season play Friday and Saturday on the road at Quincy and Truman State, respectively.

Men’s Soccer
The Tritons completed the regular season with a 3-0 shutout against Maryville last Wednesday. Sophomore DJ Bednar, junior Tyler Collico, and senior Tony Auck all found the back of the net for the Tritons, with Bednar also assisting on Collico and Auck’s goals. The Tritons season then came to an end after falling to Indianapolis 2-0 in the GLVC Tournament Quarterfinals. UMSL ends the season with an overall record of 12-4-2, including 11-3-1 in the GLVC.

Women’s Soccer
UMSL defeated Maryville 1-0 last Wednesday to close out the 2014 season with junior Katie Rapidardo finding the back of the net for the Tritons with 16 minutes to play. UMSL completes the season with an 8-8-1 record, including a 6-8-1 mark in the GLVC, recording a .500 season for the first time since 2011.

Men’s Golf
The Tritons completed their fall schedule with a third place finish at the UIS Island Getaway in Puerto Rico. UMSL was led by sophomore Matt Barry who tied for second place with a career-low 142. Junior Anthony Cope and freshman Markus Lindberg also finished in the top 10, tying for seventh and ninth place, respectively.

Men’s Swimming
UMSL was in the pool last Saturday in a meet hosted by Lindenwood. The men recorded three top-five finishes, including a fourth place finish from Felix Kusnierz in the 200-yard butterfly. He then swam the lead off leg of the 400-yard freestyle relay, which placed fourth. The Tritons are at Indianapolis this Friday and Saturday.
