UMSL junior Tyler Collico

Junior forward Tyler Collico of the University of Missouri–St. Louis men’s soccer team has been named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Men’s College Division Scholar All-North/Central Region honorable mention team.

Collico, who holds a 3.94 grade point average in business administration and accounting, started all 18 games for the UMSL Tritons and was second on the team with five assists. He also scored four goals for a team third best 13 points and led the squad with 51 shots, landing 20 on goal.

Collico helped the Tritons to a 12-4-2 record, tying the most wins in head coach Dan King‘s 14-years. The Tritons were 11-3-1 in Great Lakes Valley Conference play, a program-best, and garnered the No. 3 seed in the league tournament. UMSL hosted a GLVC Tournament quarterfinal game for the first time since 2002, but bowed out with a 2-0 loss to eventual champion and No. 6 seed Indianapolis.

To be named to a Scholar All-Region Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale) throughout his career; start more than 50 percent of all games and be a significant contributor to the team; and be nominated by an institution that is a current NSCAA College Services member.
