Men’s Basketball
The University of Missouri–St. Louis went 2-1 in Great Lakes Valley Conference play last weekend. The Tritons posted an 85-77 win over Truman State last Thursday and secured an 86-79 win at Maryville on Monday night. The lone setback was an 84-61 loss at Quincy on Saturday. Senior Tylor Wimbish averaged 16.7 points and 6.7 rebounds per game in the three outings, and shot 65.5 percent from the field, while senior Aareon Smith averaged 16.3 points and 11.0 rebounds per game. Freshman Max Cook came off the bench to follow with 8.7 points, connecting on 6-of-10 three-pointers, and dished out 2.3 assists per game. The Tritons (13-4, 5-2 GLVC) are tied for first place in the GLVC West Division standings and will host Missouri S&T Thursday and co-league division leader Drury on Saturday.

Women’s Basketball
UMSL picked up a 70-56 win at home over Truman State last Thursday before suffering road losses at Quincy (80-73) and at Maryville (57-48) last Saturday and Monday, respectively. Senior Tierra Snow averaged 14.7 points and 8.0 rebounds per game, while shooting 66.7 percent from the field, and scored a career-high 21 points at Quincy. Junior Kelly Kunkel followed with 13 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. The Tritons (7-8, 3-4 GLVC) will host Missouri S&T on Thursday and Drury on Saturday.

Men’s and Women’s Swimming
The men’s swimming team posted its first dual meet win of the season with a 151-89 victory at Lincoln College last Saturday. Freshman Felix Kusnierz won the 1000 freestyle, while setting a new pool record in a time of 9:46.87 and was also part of the winning 200 freestyle. He also set a new pool record in the 500 freestyle in winning time of 4:49.97. The women’s team fell short at Lincoln College in a narrow 89-88 loss. Freshman Angie Quiorga set both pool and school records in the 200 IM in 2:15.32 and in her first back-to-back event, won the 100 butterfly in 1:03.46. She also posted wins and school records in the 100 backstroke and the 100 freestyle. UMSL is back in action on Saturday at Bellarmine.
