UMSL Tritons volleyball went 2-1 last week with a home win over Maryville and a road win at Quincy. The lone setback came at Truman State.
Women’s Soccer
The University of Missouri–St. Louis went 3-0 last week, extending its win-streak to seven. Junior Miriam Taylor lead the UMSL Tritons to victory in the start of a five-game road trip with a hat trick at Oakland City in a 6-0 win. UMSL then resumed GLVC play at William Jewell on Friday with a 5-0 victory at William Jewell, netting its sixth shutout of the year. Senior Kali Thomas had both an assist and goal in the win. The Tritons closed out the week with a 2-1 win at Rockhurst, despite being outshot for just the second time this season. Goals were scored by Taylor Tosovsky and Emily Mosier.UMSL (9-1-2, 7-1-2 GLVC) returns to the field at McKendree on Friday before closing out the roadswing at Illinois Springfield on Sunday.
Men’s Soccer
The Tritons went 1-1 last week on a roadtrip west, winning in overtime at William Jewell before falling to No. 22 ranked Rockhurst on Sunday. Senior Jon Huelsman scored both goals at William Jewell, including the game-winner. The Tritons (5-5-2, 4-4-2 GLVC) travel to McKendree on Friday and to Illinois-Springfield on Sunday.
Volleyball
The Tritons went 2-1 last week with a home win over Maryville and a road win at Quincy. The lone setback came at Truman State. UMSL set the tone early in its win over Maryville and was led by senior Jessica Ploss’ career-high 11 blocks to go with six kills. The Tritons then struggled offensively at Truman State, hitting a season-low .063. However, UMSL bounced back with a sweep at Quincy, hitting .330. Senior Lindsay Meyer had 38 assists, while senior Erin Walker registered 21 digs and finished the week averaging 6.33 digs per set. UMSL (8-11, 4-5 GLVC) will compete in the Midwest Region Crossover Tournament this weekend in Aurora, Ill. The Tritons face Northern Michigan on Friday and Lake Erie and Ursuline on Saturday.
Women’s Golf
UMSL won its second tournament of the season at its own UMSL Fall Invite at Oak Terrace, finishing 16 strokes better than the runner-up Southern Indiana. The Tritons were lead by three top-five finishes, including a runner-up placing from sophomore Alexa Capesius, a fourth-place finish from sophomore Maxi Roth, and fifth-place finish from Ares Boira. UMSL will close out their fall season at the Trevecca Fall Invite in Nashville, Tennessee October 26-27.
Women’s Tennis
UMSL swept Lindenwood-Belleville, 9-0, to close out the fall portion of its schedule last Wednesday. The Tritons won five matches without allowing a set.
Men’s Tennis
The Triton men’s tennis team also swept Lindenwood-Belleville, 9-0, to close out the fall portion of its schedule last Wednesday.
