Campus photographer Derik Holtmann captured joyous scenes as UMSL recognized nearly 900 summer and fall graduates during three commencement ceremonies.
Edward Jones Principal Ken Cella, Missouri Botanical Garden President Lúcia Lohmann and Girls Inc. of St. Louis President and CEO Cheryl Lynne Jones will be featured speakers during Saturday’s ceremonies.
Mullen will graduate with her BSN from the College of Nursing and a certificate from the Pierre Laclede Honors College later this month.
Leone earned an award for her DNP project, “Implementation of a Human Papillomavirus Vaccination Toolkit Postpartum,” at the college’s pinning ceremony in August.
In the interactive, game-based simulation, students worked through clues and challenges related to infection control practices.
The 10-person council consists of members from across the country who aim to support new scholars and advance nursing research more broadly.
UMSL also ranked No. 136 nationally on the list of top public universities.
More than 530 students and alumni attended the event, which featured nearly 90 employers from a variety of industries.
Developed at UMSL in 1988, the evidence-based therapy focuses on identifying how traumatic experiences change thoughts and beliefs and how those thoughts influence feelings and behaviors.
