Grant Black, director of the Center for Entrepreneurship & Economic Education, was quoted Nov. 26 in the Newsmagazine Network (Chesterfield, Mo.) article “Fiscal cliff looms large: Taxpayers could feel the pain.”

Berit Brogaard, professor of philosophy, was quoted Nov. 2 in the Science Omega article “Synaesthesia and savant syndrome: Are we all superhuman?”  Brogaard wrote the Nov. 5 Psychology Today article “The superhuman mind.” She wrote the Nov. 6 Psychology Today article “Split brains.” Brogaard wrote the Nov. 17 Psychology Today article “Kids as super-witnesses.” She wrote the Nov. 19 Psychology Today article “The magical number seven, plus 67,883.” Brogaard wrote the Nov. 21 Psychology Today article “Positives of depression on artistic expression.” She wrote the Nov. 21 Psychology Today article “Brain waves as neural correlates of consciousness.” Brogaard wrote the Nov. 25 Psychology Today article “Identical twins are not genetically identical.” She wrote the Nov. 29 Psychology Today article “You can move external objects with your mind!

Thomas H. Eysell, professor of finance, was quoted Nov. 4 in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch article “Tips for making retirement planning easier.”

Chancellor Tom George was quoted Nov. 21 in the Ladue (Mo.) News article “UMSL: Training future leaders.”

Alumna Rebecca Haas, BFA 2010, displayed her artwork in the Gallery Visio exhibit “Synesthesia,” which was reviewed Nov. 9 in the St. Louis Jewish Light article “Synesthesia at UMSL gallery.”

Joseph Hendricks, a junior majoring in music, was featured Nov. 21 in The St. Louis American “Joseph Hendricks wins IN UNISON scholarship, debuts in Youth Orchestra.”

Terry Jones, professor of political science, was quoted Nov. 4 in the Associated Press article “Time may be running out for Missouri’s Todd Akin.” The article appeared on websites for dozens of media outlets, including NPR. Jones was quoted Nov. 12 in the St. Louis Public Radio | 90.7 KWMU story “Report: Number of postsecondary degrees on the rise, more work to do.” He was also interviewed on the same topic by KMOX (1120 AM). He was quoted Nov. 27 in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch article “St. Louis area boosts college graduation rate, but not enough.”

David Kimball, professor of political science, was quoted Nov. 8 in the Kirkwood (Mo.) Patch article “A Nixon White House in 2016? Possible, some pundits say.” Kimball was quoted Nov. 8 in the NPR story “Once again, Florida’s voting doesn’t add up.” He was quoted Nov. 8 in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch article “Sen. Claire McCaskill won with more than just Todd Akin’s comments.” Kimball was quoted Nov. 8 in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch article “Missouri mixes red with blue.”

David Klinger, associate professor of criminology and criminal justice, was interviewed for the Nov. 21 KSDK (Channel 5) story “Specialized unit could come to St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.”

Tian Qian, a student pursuing a master’s degree in education, was quoted Nov. 13 in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch article “International student enrollment soars on campuses nationally, in St. Louis area.”

Robert Ricklefs, Curators’ Professor of Biology, was quoted Nov. 1 in the Science News article “Extensive bird family tree rewrites some history.”

Dave Robertson, Curators’ Teaching Professor of Political Science, was quoted Nov. 5 in the KSDK (Channel 5) story “SurveyUSA: Mitt Romney, Jay Nixon, Claire McCaskill winning in Missouri.” Robertson was quoted Nov. 7 in the Associated Press article “Rape remark defined Akin’s campaign, McCaskill win.” He was quoted Nov. 1 in the Al Jazeera article “Todd Akin continues to split Republic Party.” Robertson was quoted Nov. 8 in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch article “Sen. Claire McCaskill won with more than just Todd Akin’s comments.” He was quoted Nov. 7 in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch article “Akin’s gaffe was all McCaskill needed.” Robertson took part as a political expert in a 2012 post-Election special on Nov. 7 on St. Louis Public Radio | 90.7 KWMU.
