The Blanche M. Touhill Performing Arts Center will close out its November performances with two free shows featuring students from the Department of Music at the University of Missouri–St. Louis.

If you’re in the mood for chamber music, be sure to check out the Student Chamber Music Concert at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 27 in the E. Desmond and Mary Ann Lee Theater at the Touhill Performing Arts Center. The student ensembles will perform a variety of classical to contemporary pieces showcasing their amazing skill.

The following night promises to deliver an evening of wonderful piano music, featuring the students of Alla Voskoboynikova, teaching associate professor of music and director of keyboard studies at UMSL.

The piano studio recital will kick off at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 28, in Lee Theater at the Touhill. The students will draw inspiration from composers of the 19th and 20th centuries – a time of big social and stylistic changes. The composers include Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel, Alexander Scriabin, Sergey Prokofiev and many others.

Both performances are free and open to the public, and sponsored by the Department of Music at UMSL.
