St. Louis Magazine covered the forthcoming opening of BoCo Boba’s brick-and-mortar location in Grand Center. The boba tea and retail shop was co-founded by Lily Clark, an UMSL MBA alum, who started the business with her sister, Lucy. The new location will offer boba tea flights and a selection of artisan goods in the store’s retail arm, dubbed Mochi Market. Clark credits her education at UMSL for preparing her to launch and grow her business.
KSDK highlighted Bob Sundvold’s induction into the St. Louis Sports Hall of Fame. As the head coach of the UMSL men’s basketball program since 2013, Sundvold has guided the Tritons to four of the past six NCAA Tournaments with three Sweet 16 appearances and one Elite Eight run. He now owns the program’s all-time wins record, as well.
Lúcia Lohmann, biology alum and president and director of the Missouri Botanical Garden, sat down for a Q&A with The St. Louis Business Journal to discuss her journey from São Paulo to St. Louis. Lohmann said her love for plants began as a child, exploring the Atlantic Forest and visiting large plant markets with her mother.
