Several local outlets, including the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, First Alert 4 and Fox 2 Now featured stories on a new partnership between the University of Missouri–St. Louis and St. Mary’s South Side Catholic High School. The three-year agreement includes exclusive benefits for students looking to attend UMSL as well as professional development opportunities for faculty and staff while providing UMSL education students with experience in classrooms at St. Mary’s.
David Kimball, professor and chair of the Department of Political Science, and Anita Manion, associate professor of political science, provided analysis on Missouri’s August primary election to local and regional outlets. The St. Louis Business Journal included Shu Schiller on and Lúcia Lohmann on its 2026 Most Influential Business Women list. As Dean of the Ed G. Smith College of Business, Schiller has leveraged 20 years of experience in higher education to champion UMSL’s mission to transform lives through excellent education. Lohmann earned a PhD in ecology, evolution and systematics at UMSL and returned to St. Louis in 2024 to serve as president of the Missouri Botanical Garden. This spring, she became 27th recipient of the Robert R. Hermann World Ecology Award.
