Each week, the Department of Athletics at the University of Missouri–St. Louis compiles a roundup of how the various UMSL Tritons teams have fared. Click on the headings below for an up-to-date look at each Tritons team.

WOMEN’S TENNIS
The UMSL women’s tennis team went 2-1 last week, which included a 9-0 win over Maryville in the Great Lakes Valley Conference opener. The Tritons also recorded a 7-2 win over Lindenwood with their lone setback coming to Truman State, 5-4. Sophomore Louisa Werner went 3-0 at No. 1 singles on the week, moving her win streak to seven matches, while senior Leticia Garcia went 3-0 at No. 6 singles, extending her win streak to nine matches. The Tritons are 7-2 overall.

MEN’S TENNIS
The UMSL men’s tennis team posted wins over Maryville University (Town and Country, Mo.) (9-0) and Truman State University (Kirksville, Mo.) ( (7-2) last weekend. Freshmen Nils Muggenburg, Marius Schumacher, Harry Heyburn and Tim McLarty each went 4-0 on the week. Muggenburg was 2-0 at No. 1 singles, while Schumacher was 2-0 at No. 4 singles. The duo was also 2-0 at No. 1 doubles. Heyburn and McLarty were 2-0 at Nos. 2 and 3 singles, respectively, and went 2-0 at No. 2 doubles. The Tritons are 5-3 overall.

WOMEN’S GOLF
The UMSL women’s golf team recorded an eighth place finish in the 18-team field at the Northern Kentucky Spring Invitational. After an opening round of 329, the Tritons fired a 311 in their final 18 holes to finish with a 640. Freshman Bailey Hopper was the top UMSL finisher, tying for 18th place with a 155.

MEN’S GOLF
The UMSL men’s golf team sits in a tie for sixth place at the North Alabama Spring Classic after Monday’s first two rounds. The Tritons carded a 606 (307-299) and trail leader North Alabama University (Florence) by 33 strokes in the 17-team field. Sophomore Joe Atkisson paces UMSL individually with a 148 (78-70) and is tied for 15th place. The final 18 holes are being played today.

SOFTBALL
The UMSL softball team went 1-3 last weekend in a pair of GLVC doubleheaders. The Tritons split with Quincy (Ill.) University on Saturday, recording a 7-0 victory in game two, while University of Illinois Springfield won both contests on Sunday. UMSL is 14-16 overall, including 4-10 in the GLVC.

BASEBALL
The UMSL baseball team went 1-4 last week with its lone win coming in a 2-1 victory over No. 1 ranked University Central Missouri (Warrensburg) last Wednesday. The Tritons were swept in GLVC doubleheaders against Northern Kentucky University (Highland Heights) and Bellarmine University (Louisville, Ky.) over the weekend. UMSL stands at 8-11 overall, including 1-7 in the GLVC.

UMSL Tritons weekly rewind

Devin Livingstone and the men’s soccer team knocked off William Jewell and Truman State over the weekend to lock up their first Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament berth since 2021.
