Learn from experts, enhance skills with UMSL’s Write Stuff Certificate Program
The College of Arts and Sciences and School of Professional & Continuing Studies at the University of Missouri–St. Louis announced its Write Stuff Certificate Program for the upcoming fall and spring semesters. Courses and seminars will begin Sept. 10 and continue through June. The program aims to improve participants’ writing skills as well as their knowledge of the business of writing.
New SCORE Scholarship on campus
University of Missouri–St. Louis awarded the inaugural SCORE scholarship May 8 in the amount of $1,000 to marketing and Pierre Laclede Honors College student Sumedha Rao.
UMSL offers new program in digital media marketing
The College of Business Administration and School of Professional & Continuing Studies at the University of Missouri–St. Louis announced a new program that offers a Certificate in Digital Media Marketing. Courses will begin in June with a curriculum that offers marketers a chance to amplify their skills in the digital world, including social media, web analytics, media buying, mobile marketing and more. This fall, the university will be adding social media marketing to its graduate level curriculum.
Summer camp to immerse students in singing
The College of Fine Arts and Communication at the University of Missouri–St. Louis announces Acappellooza Summer Camp, an a cappella music camp for students in grades 9–12. For four days, from July 16–19 students will be immersed in singing led by some of the world’s most prominent names in a cappella music, including members of the internationally famous Ambassadors of Harmony and Jim Henry, director of choral studies at UMSL.
UMSL offers educational adventure to Yellowstone
The School of Professional & Continuing Studies at the University of Missouri–St. Louis presents Call of the Wild: A Yellowstone Ed-Venture. Guests will experience the wonders of Yellowstone National Park, guided by the area’s foremost naturalist and carnivore ecologist, James Halfpenny. The unique excursion is from July 11-16, 2013, and is designed for up to 14 guests.

The Division of Continuing Education at the University of Missouri–St. Louis has a new name: School of Professional & Continuing Studies. “It was determined that the ‘School of Professional & Continuing Studies’ would more accurately reflect the nature of our work, the constituents with whom we work, and better align us with our peers and our related professional organizations,” said Wm. Thomas Walker, dean of PCS.
