This week Pinterest announced an exciting new private messaging feature. Now when you send someone a pin that you think they may like, they can reply with a message or send a pin back. And…it gets even better! You can also send pins and message to multiple people. Furthermore, users can send profiles and entire pin boards to other users via private messaging.
This now brings Pinterest to a new level for project collaboration and for growing conversations around single or multiple images. Check out the video below to see the new private messaging feature in action.

Google Said to Plan Separating Photo Service From Google+ – Bloomberg
Over the weekend, Google announced that it is planning to separate Photos from Google+ and make it into its own standalone service.
Why should you care?
This is actual a really good thing for Google users because it means that you will no longer need a Google+ account to save and share photos using Google. However, there aren’t currently any details on what this new service will offer, but Bloomberg states the following:
The service, called Google+ Photos, would still work with the social network’s users and may be rebranded as part of the move.
This separation of services is another indication of the ever changing world of Google+.

Instagram's Answer to Snapchat, Bolt, Is Here — But There's a Catch
It’s official, Instagram’s SnapChat rival Bolt is launching in New Zealand, Singapore and South Africa. But don’t worry, Instagram plans on rolling it out to other countries soon.
What is bolt?
Bolt is a new messaging app that allows users to send short-lived photo and video messages from mobile devices.
Isn’t Instagram owned by Facebook, and didn’t Facebook launch SnapChat-like app Slingshot recently?
Yes, you are correct. Last month Facebook launched Slingshot, an app similar to SnapChat except that you can’t view an incoming “shot” until you send a shot back to the sender. Check out the Slingshot app here.

Using data from the user’s browsing habits, companies are able to target who they think will be interested in their product, thereby maximizing the effect of their advertising budget. Twitter Acquires Commerce Startup CardSpring
Last Wednesday, Twitter announced that they have officially acquired the commerce startup CardSpring.
“CardSpring is a startup that helps merchants connect to publishers to create online-to-offline promotions. The company bills itself as a company that lets businesses “build apps for payment cards.” The idea is that you can add a coupon or a promotion directly to your method of payment, meaning that buying a distinct product — or even shopping at a particular store — can trigger an action or discount when done on a specific payment method.” Read the full article on Mashable.
