UMSL Tritons weekly rewind

The University of Missouri–St. Louis opened Great Lakes Valley Conference play with a pair of losses last weekend. The UMSL Tritons suffered a 1-0 defeat at Quincy on Friday as the host Hawks scored the game-winner in the final three minutes. UMSL then hosted Truman State on Sunday in the home opener, falling victim to the Bulldogs, 2-0.The Tritons close out their current three-game homestand this weekend, hosting Saint Joseph’s on Friday and Indianapolis on Sunday.

UMSL welcomes new faculty for the 2013-14 academic year

More than 35 new faculty members joined UMSL for the 2013-14 academic year. The newcomers took part last week in the annual New Faculty Orientation organized by the Center for Teaching and Learning. The two-day event introduced new faculty to the ins-and-outs of the campus including a tour, informational sessions on University Libraries, informational technology and classroom resources, meetings with students, staff and administrators and an introduction to employee benefits.
